I was in a guitar store recently and this dude told me any fender guitar made after 1985 is not even close a true fender, and that the tones are just not the same. what the difference ?

how about the squier classic vibe ? ibe heard that it is the best squier made, its made with alder and the neck is 1 piece maple, if i want a squier, i will choose that, but not the bullet and affinity range

Mexican-American….Huh? Everybody does know that “MEXICAN” is a nationality not a race…..right? There are white Mexican nationals, there are German Mexican nationals, there are Chinese Mexican nationals. African-American makes sense in the context that it denotes both race and nationality. Mexican-American is correct if you are refering to someone with dual nationalities. Most people think of Mestizos (indian-white mix) as being of the Mexican race.

Sienna Sunburst is the most atrocious color that Fender ever produced! It looks like a mixture of ketchup! Love the 3TS though!

‘Made in American?’ That is meaningless. The more money you spend…the better your guitar? That is a very sweeping statement, but there is an element of truth. I bought a Candy apple red Mexican made Telecaster…details are excellent; Knurled, three saddle bridge, Kluson style tuners – that stay in tune – lovely fat, slab-board rosewood neck, very decent metallic finish and accurate light weight ash body; £200…BARGAIN.

I love this guitar and will keep it indefinitely. Having put together a first rate ’62 replica, Fender goes and ruins it with some fairly light weight pups!! No problem though….changed ‘em for hand wound Nunley Wade pups with (quite coincidently) staggered pole bridge pup…..Nunley is from L.A….and his hard ware provides the appropriate spank, and I’ve got myself a damn good replica for £350.
