appreciate this.. alot of tutors just teach and want you to learn, and dont understand that in order to comprehend what your playing you actually have to have some theory behind the music.. thanks for clearing alot of things up

@guitarslim56 because he is explaining the scale.. its better to understand the scales completely ie, the notes used, why they are used, how they got there, as apposed to just a shape. once you know the hows and whys, it makes creating your own stuff and improvising a whole lot easier. guitar is not just about shapes. idk how far along you are, but even advanced players can gain stuff from his videos

Less talk, more rock! It takes this guy forever to demonstrate anything. He does not begin to demonstrate scales until 3:24.

@Kawnification not sure of anyone has answered this yet or if youve figured it out, but no they are not like the modes. all the shapes are the same notes, just in different places. the shapes are simply to help you remember where they are. the modes are the same shapes but different scales, while what he’s teaching are the same notes, but different shapes. also, if youre playing a 145 in A, you would play any shape of your a minor pentatonic. Good Luck!

Great lesson again. This may sound a bit newb, but if someone reads this and could answer a question I have, it would be greatly appreciated.
Are the 5 box patterns he talks about the same idea as the different modes?
And say for example I’m doing a 1-4-5 blues progression in they key of A. How do I know which blues box pattern to use for licks?

hmm what helped me since i have small stubby fingers/hands. Stretched my fingers every day for few minutes. take one hand put it inbetween 2 fingers and push down, till u can feel it stretching. do it to all fingers/hands. Should take around..2 good weeks till you start feeling the stretch. but keep doing guitar finger workouts as well..
Hope this helps.
